Our History
Children of the Mangrove is a social care company inspired by the social and cultural impact of the Mangrove restaurant and Community Association active in London, Notting hill, for over 30 years during the late 1960s-2000s.
What We Do
Children Of The Mangrove is committed to providing our young people with outstanding quality facilities and services in all aspects of their care. Many of our young people will have limited experience of their needs being consistently prioritised and we believe through our approach of ensuring that each young person has their needs consistently met, voices heard, feelings considered and being valued, we will begin to reveal to them their inherent value.

They are very eager to learn so they are able to support the young person the best way they can. They fulfil a special space in the lives of those who have in the past have been neglected and lacked a loving and caring environment. I could not choose a family better than them even if I tried. They are always there for you through thick and thin, they do not leave your side when things get tough, they are going to believe and fight for and with you no matter what. No matter what, the young person comes first. They will put up a fight if you give up and you are feeling hopeless. When I lived there, I was the happiest I have ever been and I will come back to give back in one way or the other with the best staff team!! The staff are so hilarious and fun and caring and always there for you. If a child or young person you know is there, you do not have to worry.”

“my time at selma has been up and down and a fun time because i got to meet friendly people who will always be there to help when i needed it and they will try to make things better if i was going through a hard time and the journey has been amazing because i had people to make sure that i was ok and also the activities was always fun to do because the staff will always make it fun if i was in a bad mood and the food was always nice to have and also most days was amazing at the house and somedays was not but they really helped me through my hard times even if i was saying no they will always try to make things better for me and they did every time and i was always happy to have people who was there for me and also who was there all the way and they was all the time and the staff is truly amazing to be around and the home always felt like home all the time because it was always homely and it was amazing to be there and also when there was a problem they will try and sort it out not matter what it was and if is a big problem they will be there on the journey with you even if is a hard one they will still be there to help you whenever you need it "
